It had potential and the idea was promising, but poorly executed. The character growth was limited and it had sexist, misogynistic, and toxic undertones that often made the read uncomfortable. There were slightly humorous aspects, but not enough to outweigh the underlying problems. I found it very hard to read and enjoy.

This. book wasn't even fine, it was indescribable. Perhaps a reading slump may have impacted my enjoyment of the book. I know majority of people say that its sucks and the second one is better - but I don't even know if I can be bothered to read it after that performance.

My expectations going into this book were very high. I don’t think the book quite lived up to the hype. It’s like having all the freshness ingredients to make the perfect meal and the food comes out okay. It’s good enough to finish your plate but the food is slightly under seasoned and the meat is slightly overcooked.

I love the premise of the book. The wealthy grandfather passes away and lives his three grandsons with a letter containing a task they must complete in order to receive their inheritance. I also loved the fairy tale elements of this story. Dreamland is basically a fictional Disneyland. Zahra has all the characteristics of a Disney princess.

However, It just didn’t fully come together for me. The book was too long and moved at a very slow pace. Zahra felt a bit immature and unrealistic. Most importantly, I’m not convinced that these two characters fell in love. Yes, they had a lot of passion and lust but love? I don’t see it. When did it happen exactly?

I also didn’t love the character development in this book. feel like Rowan characteristics as a selfish, mean, and cold character were more told through narrative than shown. I would have loved to see the character grow and suffer over time. I felt this with various characters.

I also don’t see the value other characters added to the story like Claire? How did she help move the story forward? Why add anecdotes about side characters and not wrap up their story as well ( not talking about the Kane men). Although I do love the grumpy/sunshine trope, I feel like he wasn’t grumpy enough and she was too much sunshine. Finally, one thing I didn’t love is Lauren’s transitions in the book. At times It felt rushed and mostly unnecessary.

Overall, I did enjoy the book. Although we only got small glances of Declan’s story, something tells me I’m going to enjoy that story a lot more.

This book revived my love for romance books again, it was cute and the story was good and consistent.
Rowan and Zahra = the cutest couple ever
I cannot wait to meet and discover the other two brothers and their stories
