This story is about Kiara and Liam. This is a sweet romance that will melt you heart. Liam is a grumpy man but with Kiara he is sweet as candy and very happy to have found his other half. This is a Amazing read that is smoking smooth.

Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of disappointment and eye-rolls with this book! The characters are as exciting as watching paint dry, with about as much chemistry as a pair of socks. And don't even get me started on the insta-love. It felt forced and unrealistic, with little development to justify even their attraction. Within a week, these characters are professing eternal love faster than a speeding bullet, despite their chemistry being as nonexistent as a unicorn standing right outside my window. Liam may be 40, but he's about as mature as a frat boy, while Kiara seems to have skipped adulthood entirely. And let's not forget Liam's bizarre aversion to touch and food cooked by anyone but himself—seriously, what's up with that? It's like the author randomly picked quirks out of a hat. As for the plot, well, let's just say you'd find more depth on a cereal box. Save yourself the agony and pick up literally anything else. Even Wattpad fanfictions has more to offer.
PSA: If you're looking to waste time, may I suggest staring at a wall instead? At least that way, you won't be subjected to the disappointment of this book.

Really enjoyed the book and how Liam was such boyfriend material the whole time.
He has the icks when it comes to touching other people but never with Kiara. He also tells her exactly what she wants to hear without her needing to voice it. Love it.
My favorite part of it all:
“There’s an Irish blessing you always use to say before getting drunk as fuck.” I take a deep breath. “I promise, if I steal, it will be to steal her heart. If I cheat, it’s to cheat death so I can stay with her longer. If I fight, it will be to protect her.” Then I add my own twist, “If she cries, it will be tears of happiness. If she’s in pain, it will be because she’s giving birth to our children.” I clear my throat, and pulling a pocketknife from my jacket, I flip it open and cut my thumb. Pressing the drop of blood to the gravestone, I say, “I make this blood vow to you, Jimmy.”

4.25⭐️
Finally got around to reading the second one in this series. I still love the whole idea of the priesthood. I like that I can picture a group of big, tough, badass killers in a room together catching up on both business and pleasure.
I didn't like this one as much as the first one. I feel as though things were very much rushed. Like everything happened to soon. Regardless, I still loved the tropes that was in here and I like that these books may be a slight dark, but at least at the end they have happy endings 🤭
