Истината е, че си мислех (въпреки заглавието) че това ще е поредната биография на Queen, за която нямах големи очаквания, тъй като знам почти всичко за групата. Оказа се нещо доста по-различно. От първо лице разказва Питър Хинс, помощник-турнета, който отговаря за Фреди и Джон. Той е с групата от към средата на 70те до '86, когато е и последното им турне - Мagic. Това не е толкова биография, колкото автобиография на младото момче, живеещо 10 години забързания и изпълнен с удоволствия рокендрол живот. В книгата си описва не толкова Фреди, Джон, Роджър и Брайън (въпреки че и за тях има), а начина на живот на целия екип, включително самия него, които отговарят за оборудването, които са от турне на турне из различни части на света, които трябва да се оправят с настроенията и прищевките на всеки и същевременно водят див и многообразен нощен живот във всеки град, в който отидат. Книгата му е изпълнена със секс, наркотици и рокендрол, но и с доста отккровения и описания на всяко едно турне, било то в Америка или Япония, отношението на хората там към групата и на групата към тях и въобще успя да покаже защо Queen заавладяват толкова много сърца до днес, включително и моето. Това, което не ми хареса, беше хаотичното прескачане от един в друг град, от една история в друга, както и факта, че категорично това е по-скоро биография на Питър Хинс и неговите преживявания, отколкото на групата, въпреки че, както казах, това си има своите плюсове. И още една забележка - и на предната, и на задната корица е Фреди, когато това не е книга само за него, защото цялата група е феномен, не само той (въпреки че и самата аз го обожавам).

The title is very apt because there is very little of Queen in the book!

Finally, an interesting book about my favorite rock band, Queen. Although there are many books out there that detail Queen's recordings and live concerts, this book does so from a completely different perspective...that of a long-time roadie with the band, Peter Hince, known affectionately as "Ratty."
His time with Queen spans their years as the most important live band at the time...if not of ALL time. With behind the scenes stories of his personal experiences with the members of Queen, Freddie Mercury especially, this is a wonderful insight into what goes into putting on a massive live event for one of the biggest bands of all time.
Do NOT look for secrets and dirt on the band and its members...for the most part, this is a very respectful look at Queen and "Ratty's" time with them between 1975 and 1986.

Let’s just say I will always enjoy reading about Queen and Freddie Mercury. Initially, I was kind of annoyed with the author, I felt that he was trying way too hard to be funny and claiming to be more important than he was but as I kept reading, I overcame that feeling. It was an interesting insight into the work that went behind the Queen shows, how the equipment was managed and how the crew handled the pressures of supporting the band while they were on tour. It also was interesting to see how the shows were managed in different countries and how the crowd behaviour varied from place to place.
The writer’s sass was annoying to be honest and it seemed like he harboured some resentment towards Freddie Mercury. I didn’t enjoy reading about the adventures of Peter Hince per say, but I liked it because of the band.
