I have to admit that after reading two of the short Holmes stories for school and university, I had never really been sold on Sherlock Holmes. Infamous, the undisputed icon of crime fiction, has millions of fans, yes, but not for me.

However, between enjoying BBC's modernised Sherlock and finding a copy of The Hound of the Baskervilles in my father's bookshelf, I thought I'd give Holmes another try and ended up enjoying this book immensely. I definitely want to read more of Holmes' adventures.
