There's something evocative and luminous about the writing in this book. I'm not sure I would characterize it first and foremost as a romance, because it's as much about friendship and family (both adopted and otherwise) and relating to one's self as it is the romance.

I liked the relationships and friendships in this book very much. The relation of Grace with her her parents was depicted as a work in progress and were complex yet compelling to read. I liked it overall but I missed the romance element a bit. The parts with Grace’s partner were well developed but there was not enough of it. I didn’t get Yuki’s  character at first but then I got it and she was really nice to read about. About the feelings about having graduated but not found a place I can’t say anything so that was not included in the review. I liked the open ending because it didn’t magically fixes Grace’s problems but made it clear they will eventually figure them out.

OH, the things this book made me feel. Raise your hand if you fought to get where you are, don't know how to take a break, and experience burnout? I loved Grace's emotional and mental journey in this story. I loved Yuki and her roommates and astronomy and seeing therapy and just everything, really. Will definitely be rereading this.

Its a great contemporary wlw story without it just being a coming out story and focuses a lot on mental health. The characters are diverse and very lovable.
