A fun, cosy read. After enjoying the The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, I was excited to read Sangu Mandanna’s follow up novel and return to Mandanna’s take on magic and witches. It did not disappoint, with higher stakes than Secret Society, Magical Innkeeping revisits a similar magic system but not the same world as Secret Society. The new cast of characters and magical lore felt fresh, charming, and intriguing. An easy world to get lost in and the perfect accompaniment to a cinnamon roll and a cup of tea.
