I’m in the minority here. I don’t know if my expectations for this book were too high going in, but this book was meh. I loved Secret Society, so overall, I was disappointed in this book.
As mentioned in other reviews, Sera loses her magical powers. I understand the plot reason for it, but… really
I thought much of this felt forced. The characters were mostly fine. The author’s choices regarding Posy clearly didn’t include her actually talking with autistic people. Autistic people don’t need an allistic savior. I did appreciate that Sera and the rest of the characters embraced Posy and didn’t exclude her, but… that’s very basic human decency. Either have a fully formed autistic character, or don’t include them. They don’t need to be a diversity checkbox.
I had a really hard time getting through this book. I actually got through an entire other book plus about 30% of another in the time I read this one. I just didn’t feel pulled to go back to it. I finished it because I hoped it would get better, but sadly, the ending wasn’t great either.

"Grumpy/Sunshine" strikes again, but it was enjoyable! Our main couple was adorable, and each character had well-written personalities! They each added something to the plot and managed to make this ensemble piece work. I would love to see this on the silver screen... Parts were a bit tedious, and some of the plot could have been cut, but reading it was a lovely time.
