The Dullards don’t let their kids go to school, read books or have any fun. So the kids run away to join the circus. This sounds like the stuff award winning memoirs are made of, but this is actually just a super boring + depressing children’s book.
Another funny book that benefits from Pennypacker's sense of humor as well as Salmieri's illustrations. Big favorite in this house.
Hilariously subversive story, more meant for older kids I think.
Dullness sprinkled with dry humor. It would have earned a higher rating if the illustrations were more pleasant.
This would be fun to read to an elementary classroom. I think they would really get a giggle out of the kids antics.
I really really wish the circus in this book didn't have animals. It doesn't add to the story and it perpetuates the idea that animals are here for our entertainment. Not cool.
Anything but dull! This very funny book lacked only a bit of heart to nudge it into bestselling territory.I liked the idea though.
