This was the holiday romance I didn’t know I needed. So funny. Sweet, but not cloying, with just the right amount of spice. So. Good.

Arlo and Jack are perfect for each other, although both men don't see in themselves what the other does. Arlo is a vivacious, funny, sometimes clumsy, and always caring beautifully written character who tries to convince himself he's over his childhood crush on his brother's best friend. But when he's invited, along with Jack, on vacation to Amsterdam in order for his brother to propose to his boyfriend, their connection is obvious. I enjoyed how the relationship developed between the two, with Jack loving everything Arlo thinks is a detriment and Jack's insecurities and doubts getting swept under the rug because he's happy whenever he's with Arlo. This is a perfect holiday read, but also one featuring a relationship so strong, you read it over again to get lost in Arlo and Jack's world. Wonderful and highly recommended!!

Holiday Romance Readathon 2023: 16
I've definitely read this before, because when I opened the ebook I was on the last page, but I think it was in 2021, and I only remembered vague plot points. It is a sweet romance, there probably could have been more angst and a bit less public sex scenes, and it's not SUPER Christmas-heavy (this could have been set at any time in the winter honestly), but it was a nice cosy read.

Just the kind of Christmas book I needed, it's just so sweet and fluffy. It is so funny to, especially Arlo. He comes out with some funny one-liners and he is such a sassy, sweetheart.
Arlo has liked Jack for years. It's thanks to seeing a sweaty, young Jack, that Arlo figured out his sexuality. Jack is his brothers Tom's, best friend. He saw Jack as unattainable and that doesn't change. They end up sharing a room when they go to Amsterdam and end up sharing a room. As they spend time together, their attraction to each other grows. I loved how they are together, they just compliment each other so well. Arlo is just so good for Jack, he embraces his quirks and they are just a perfect match. They just click and they definitely do in the bedroom. They are just as open and honest in the bedroom as out of it. Their sex scenes just add to the book and aren't thrown in willy nilly!
The secondary characters are the best, especially Tom and Bee, he boyfriend. Watching Tom get-up the nerve to propose was funny and his eventual proposal was epic. He really did make it perfect in his own way! I didn't like Steven one bit, he was a jumped up little sod! I loved it when he got taken down a peg or too, he deserved it! He parents are only spoke about and I want to shout at them. They will so not be winning parents of the year!
The book overall was so fluffy and there is really not angst. They talk and so problems don't crop up, they communicate! That book made me smile and laughter, mainly at poor Arlo, he just doesn't have an indoor voice. The ending was perfect for them and it was just a perfect Christmas read...so much fluff!

Lily Morton is a newly-discovered author -- all thanks to Kindle Unlimited. This is brand spanking new, with characters that seem familiar, and yet not. I binged pretty much everything the author has written and can't wait to devour anything else she might have in the offing.
By the way, does anyone know if Bee & Toby (?) has their own book?
