This book was a slower read, but it kept me engaged. There were many character developments I did not expect. As a creative, I enjoyed feeling like I got a piece of my inner child seen through these characters. There was diversity amongst the characters, and I found that my emotions were often touched throughout the book.

Extremely slow. It took me so long to finish it. Every time I sat down to read it, it was out of desire to finish it to move on to a new book.

I appreciate how real the story is in the sense of not everything works out, it's not always a happy ending. It addresses a lot of tough aspects of the real world. But I felt like it dug into them almost too much. It felt like there could never be any positivity and the characters all just had a dreadful life in their minds. It truly gives an overly negative view of life.

I tried to think of any characters that I liked. And truthfully there was not one. Maybe Jonah. And Dennis, even though he was not a primary characters in a good portion of the book.

Jules is unbearable. Everything is "poor me". It's basically a 538 page pity party.

I wasn’t sure for the first 30% of the book if I’d finish it, but then it hit its stride and brought me to tears at the end.

I liked this book at first, but then I got bored with it and with the characters. I actually skipped passages and whole pages because I didn't care. Not that I couldn't relate to some of the career angst and envy about others' fantastic career fortunes, but it didn't read accurately to me, and I found myself irritated with the main character and apathetic towards the others. Glad to have finished it and to be on to a new book.
