i wanted to like this one but honestly it’s was just okay in every way. it was really promising at first but the ending kinda disappointed me. especially because it was left on a cliff hanger. not one of the clique “to be continued” one but Delilah just walked away from a conversation and then i flip the page and there’s the acknowledgments. it felt really out of place to just end the entire book with no final conclusion. you don’t find out what happened to Delilah, if she got arrested, moved to college, confessed to Aisha or what. So it felt sort of sloppy and lazy toward the end.

This quick YA thriller was really enjoyable to read. It was a little predictable and I wish there had been a bit more to it just to tie everything together.

I'm not gonna lie I read this book because someone said it was giving "YOU" vibes and that sold me. I love that show. And after reading this they're right. It's "YOU", but make it YA and in high school.

It follows two POVs: Delilah and Logan.

I would like to note that I read this as an audiobook at 2-2.10x speed and that really made the book a breeze to read. It indirectly set the mood for the whole thriller vibe that the author was going for. And it made for a quick read.

Reading both Logan and Delilah's POVs were great, but I'm gonna be straight with you I was pretty bored with the story until
she found out that he was stalking her. Then the story really started to move along. And we really got to see Delilah gradually start to grow deranged after her first kill. And start to see her grow more cynical with each thing she learned. And I also liked how realisti  her constant panicking was. And the whole prey v. predators aspect the author had going on. I do wish she could've been smarter in terms of digging dirt up on Logan though.
I really enjoyed that part. It was nice seeing how Logan and Delilah were secretly plotting against one another. Although it was rushed I found the last few remaining chapters pretty satisfying.

Critics: I kinda wished we got more of Logan's homelife. We never really delved into his backstory or only got bits and pieces into Logan's fixation with Sophie. I'm curious as to what lead him to such thought processes. Of cours considering this is a young adult novel I don't expect it to be too intricate, but it would've been nice if we also got to know more of the characters too. Speaking of, it kinda annoyed how useless Logan's supposed best friend was. I felt like he could've planned a bigger role. And the way Delilah found out about Logan's antics and just her own secret about the
her being the one dealing drugs at the school
was very anticlimactic. It's a decent novel though.
