This book is such a beautiful blend of cultures and the in depth ecology of a planet that continually shocks you with the life within it. There's so much political intrigue and pondering human nature and how to do the most good, and it's one of the most complex and incredible things I've ever read. I highly recommend this to anyone with a stomach for a challenge.

Ladies and gentlemen, we made it. Finally. This took me close to two months to finish, but it actually held my attention pretty well the whole time. I listened to the audiobook, the Scott Brick version with all the different voices and sound effects is kinda weird but the George Guidall version was much better! Overall, I quite enjoyed this, I love a character who is both the hero and the villain, which is how I think of Paul. I also thought the world building was quite sound, I really enjoyed learning about the politics and history of this universe. But girl I felt like Frank was body shaming the baron the whole time like we get it he’s fat but my GOD tell us something more. Not sure if I’ll continue with the series or not… my main goal with reading this was to have the movies make more sense and they definitely do now!

A phenomenal read! Quite different than the movies in the best of ways.

This was as good as the hype, and I loved the story. Definitely a huge book but I’m glad I read it, and I already bought the second book to keep reading lol. Loved the world and how huge it all felt, but Im keen to see how it all gets off Arrakis. Lost some points for
how quickly Chani and Paul’s relationship developed, because it felt a bit sudden, and for the really fast ending. It felt like the book had built up everything so slowly and then bam, Paul’s a firemen and they’ve taken over. I would have like to hear more of the battle strategy and moreabout Paul’s relationships but it’s still good!
