eileen is a mess. she’s depraved, pathetic, and sad.

the author did a great job writing such a deplorable character and creating a dark atmosphere to go along with it.

overall, i found the story to be pretty bland and the ending to be pretty anticlimactic. i expected more depravity and violence with the ending. it was all just meh to me. even eileen as an older woman didn’t seem to be very interesting.

i found the whole story rather pointless and didn’t understand why it was being told. i did not feel connected or attached to the characters or the story. the biggest thing that will stick with me is the dark atmosphere.

i liked this author and the vibe she created. i would be open to read more of her books, i just don’t think this one was for me.

Jestem dziwnym i smutnym człowiekiem i kocham książki o dziwnych i smutnych ludziach.
Niektóre zdania to dosłownie spisane moje przypadkowe myśli. Pokochałam styl autorki. Pokochałam to napięcie, pokochałam ten brud wylewający się z kartek, który z jednej strony mnie odpychał, a z drugiej przyciągał.
