This was a pretty nostalgic book. I used to read a lot of fantasy and then romance-fantasy, but I really don't anymore. I found Mary Balogh's story to be sweet, but totally out of place. I LOVED Gleason's Northanger Abbey vampire story. And I found Susan Krinard and Janet Mullany's stories to be pretty forgettable.

I enjoyed all four stories - Blood and Prejudice was probably my favorite (modern vampire AU). Mostly I wanted more backstory and "what's next" for everything else.

Prelim review: Honestly speaking I enjoyed the first two stories the most (Almost Persuaded and Northanger Castle), was amused by the third (Blood and Prejudice) and not very interested in the last (Little to Hex Her). I don't think that its a coincidence that the last story is based around my least favorite Jane Austen novel, Emma, however.

I liked the first, Persuasion story. I didn't get very far into the second, Northanger Abbey story. I was no longer in the context where I tolerate bad faux Austen and the writing was painful.
