A love letter to New York and Queer People then and now.
Took me a while to get into. Sometimes a little bit too predictable and cliché...But at other times I couldn´t put it down.
Overall a great sapphic read.

It's such a great light sci-fi with a wlw relationship as the main focus, plus a queer found family. Love it.

This was my most anticipated 2021 release and it did not disappoint. I loved every element of it and it's one of my favourite reads of the year so far.
August is a brilliant main character and I felt like I really understood her after only a few chapters. I also found Jane fascinating and I loved seeing their relationship develop. They complemented each other so well and I was rooting for them immediately. I also so enjoyed August making friends with her new flatmates, neighbours and colleagues. It was so heart-warming seeing her find a home and a community and I felt so involved in their lives. I'd have happily just read about their day-to-day lives in their flat and in their community. I think I loved this book even more than Red, White and Royal Blue, mainly because of the cast of loveable queer characters.
While I would have been hooked by Jane and August's romance alone, I also found the mystery element so intriguing. I was desperate to find out why Jane was there and how they'd help her. I finished the book in two days and while I didn't want the experience to be over, I also didn't want to not be reading it. I finished it last week and I've been thinking about it ever since. I felt myself missing the characters so I know I'll re-read it, maybe even later this year.
I'm often wary of magical realism because sometimes I find it hard to settle into a world which treads the line between fantasy and reality. However it's a testament to how good McQuiston's prose and characters are that I never questioned the logic of the story. I just became immediately engrossed in it and was very happy to go along for the ride.

Is it possible to give a book more than 5 stars? This sci-fi romance that takes place on the subway is perfect in every way. Casey McQuiston writes in such a comforting tone that makes you feel like you’re wrapped in a blanket on the couch. Not enough good can be said about this book- run to read it!

Absolutely charming. It was a hell of a drive and I adored every single second of it. I’m (maybe) gonna update this review later, but now my head is numb for reading this book for the last 5 hours.
