A profoundly life-changing lecture. Brené Brown helps us to see the beauty that lies in being vulnerable. Being vulnerable is difficult, but it’s an essential step to us being wholeheartedly our genuine selves.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. I listened to this on audio as part of my quest to read all Brene Brown’s books and was surprised that it isn’t a “book” per say but a recording of her speaking at a multi-session conference. At first I thought that format was gonna be distracting but I loved the relaxed, friendly, honest nature! Super comprehensive view of all her work (up to that point) with lots of actionable advice.

This book was what I needed to hear. I can see how I am coping with life and ways I can be more wholehearted. I think this book allowed me to see how much I’ve grown and ways I can continue to grow.

Listened to this on a long road trip. Hearing the author read it herself as a “workshop” and that made it even better. Liked it a ton. Probably will listen again to soak it in even better. Brown is sensible and honest- two things I appreciate most in this type of literature.
