The Lake of Souls

This book answers numerous questions whilst also throwing many more out there to be answered in the final two books.

The main purpose of this book is to help us get answers as to who Harkat really is. Taking place in an unknown location (until later in the book) the characters work through tasks to find out more about Harkat. Whilst it is the longest book in the series it does address many things, giving the reader numerous answers to questions that have been asked in the past.

I think this is the final book I enjoy in the series and it's entirely separate from the main plot (bar one reveal in the end).
You could read The Lake of Souls as a companion or 9.5 sort of novel. I really enjoyed it because it didn't focus on the vampires or the vampaneze. The Cirque is still missing but at least there's other interesting lore and creatures.

4.5

What???
Harkat is...........???
I can't believe this!!!!
I can't wait to read the next book...
even though I have to study for the final tests, I've been reading this series instead:)

Another good book in the Cirque du Freak series, and what a good writing of the Irish accent!! Very action pack, closer to an epic fantasy quest, that was different but interesting. It allows the bond between two characters to evolve a lot and I like it. Only two books left and I'm really curious to see how the author wrap it all up. Definitely a series worth reading and a series not talked about enough in my opinion. This book as darker moment an I think this is perfect for the targeted audience. Something I would have lot so much as a kid, and which I still enjoy quite a lot as an adult!
adventurous dark medium-paced

This is my favorite in this series so far. The reason I liked it so much was because the setting was different. I forgot about the Vampire wars for a while. The suspense was so good. Loved it. On to book 11.

Wait! Spoiler alert ahead for the 12 th book!! It's been a long time since I read this but I remember that the ending was completely a mind fuck! I mean seriously how could you just pretend like all 11 books didn't happen?!? What???!!!

I think this book is my favourite yet of the whole serie. It was just such a rollercoaster of events and emotions, I would have cried if I weren't sitting in the car with my brother and dad.

After finally finding out who Harkat really was in his previous life I think I like him more. I used to be a bit sceptical because he could act very cold and stuff.

I don't mind the relationship with Debbie and Darren but I'd rather have it didn't happen, luckily we didn't see much of them this book.

This is the longest book of the saga and I really really enjoyed it! It was more like a side-adventure to their quest but I think that made me enjoy reading it even more. I needed something else than the constant war and killing tactics.

This was a bit of a ride. Kinda guessed that Harkat would be someone like who he was (in the way that he was made and the time thing) but never thought it'd be that guy.
