Doc Octopus swaps brains with Peter Parker and then Doc Octopus dies. Sounds stupid and annoying. But instead it is incredibly creepy and pretty cool. Not a fun read but kind of an awesome one. Much much much better than I expected.

Man I wished I liked this more but it just didn't have the emotional impact as the conclusion of Bendis's Ultimate Spider-Man. That just killed me and emphasized the heroic everyman that Peter Parker is. This is well crafted and well drawn but really drags at times and the shorts in the middle of this collection are a bad tonal match for the rest of the book.
