I love this book. I don’t always love second-chance romance but this was perfect. I loved that it flitted back and forth between them getting together and the present. The depiction of grief and pain and love between these two, past and present was so well written; and the forgiveness that had to happen.

This was a 3.5 star for me but I’m gonna round it up. I saw this one on bookstagram so I wanted to see what the hype was about.  My friend Kirsten said the characters’ relationship when they were kids and when they were adults were both believable so it elevated the story above just a cheesy romance and I totally agree. I’d recommend this one.

I am a sucker for childhood friends to lovers books. This book did a great job of reminding me of being 13-17 and all the things that come along with that. I liked the timeline pacing. I didn’t think we spent too much time in the present, but I do wish a few previous summers were written about a bit more. The entire book was in Percy’s perspective which made us know a lot about her as she grew up. I do wish we had learned more about Sam besides he grew into himself physically and wanted to be a doctor. His character fell a little flat for me. I was always more into the older brother type anyways.  I knew after the first few chapters what the issue that happened that last time she saw Sam was. I could just feel it coming, so it was a bit predictable. Overall, it was a relatively light read, and I enjoyed it!
