I loved the nostalgia this made me feel until I was raging. Percy is a relatable character, making it hard to process when she engages in self-destructive behavior.

Basically „der Sommer als ich schön wurde“ für Erwachsene. Gleiche Story mit mehr Spice. Perfekt für den Urlaub, wenn man nicht viel denken möchte beim Lesen.

I read this right after "Love and Other Words" by Christina Lauren and I will say they are quite similar but this one takes the gold for me. IMO "Every Summer After" has more substance, while "Love and.." was more angsty. The relationship building in "Every Summer..." was far more believable. The end really but a knife in my back and twisted it but dang. Can't wait for my re-read in a year where I will try to do it in 'machete' order.

spice 🌶  - a 3 🌶  spicy
length - just right, not too long, not too short
reading speed - read this in 1 day. I couldn't stop.

A beautiful, easy to read slow burn summer romance told over 17 years, Every Summer After tells of the summer friendship of Percy and Sam, a friendship slowly turned to romance and the heartbreak and betrayal, ending in a second chance romance.
