I have a real love/hate relationship with ‘bet/dare’ books, like I love them because the person does end up getting feelings but I hate when the other person findings out. I did really enjoy this one, I loved Cory and his humour. Spencer was adorable with his grumpy side and trying to stay away. I LOVED the car/bird seed prank Spencer pulled even if it did kinda backfire

The beginning of this book is everything i wanted. Like the plot wasn’t super original and the characters are a bit cringe but idk i just liked the way the first part of the story was developed. Their little window arrangement thing was killing meeee, had me kicking my feet and screaming of glee. And I just love an asshole (Cory) that is also a golden retriever puppy.
Buuuuut i didn’t love the last third of the book. I was waiting so long for the angst that never came!!! Like bro u just found out ur pookie was with u because of a bet!! I wanted more suffering!!!
but anyway the first part of the book 4/5 the last part 3/5 sooo overall 3.5 score for this book.

So, a lot of this book is really sweet and cute but at the same time you're waiting for the inevitable sh** to hit the fan, so it's also one of the tensest reads in the FU series. Overall, I enjoyed it and appreciated the extra angst
I'm not usually a fan of the bet trope but this one was good. The chara were totally adorable together, the finding out about the bet was near the end and handled pretty quickly and the way Cory won Spencer back was wonderful.
This was a reread and is ending up on my comfort reads list. The narration by Nick J. Russo is also amazing, as usual with him.
