Abby Jimenez strikes again - the way she writes such complex characters and manages to balance between romance and plot is astounding.

My one criticism with this is the sheer amount of brands that are name-dropped; it kind of takes you out of the story.

At first I really wasn’t convinced by this couple or this book and was mostly reading for the messiness that I knew was inevitable

specifically the messiness of Emma realizing she has a brother

but the growth of these characters was really beautiful to see especially in the last 30 or 40%. That really turned the book around for me and made this feel like an earned romance that I really believed in and was rooting for

This book was a complete surprise. A rom-com that was elevated by the unpleasant moments of real life. I was enamored with the feel-good, heartfelt moments, the funny relatable moments and the tearful moments.

This book was so earnest and real - I loved it. It depicted a very realistic love story as well as real dynamics in families that exist everywhere. Such a great read.
