This is the first romance book I’ve ever read, being a solid thriller/mystery/crime/historical/literary fiction reader and I was bracing myself for another overhyped TikTok recommendation. I’m happy to admit I was pleasantly described at just how much I enjoyed reading this book.
Whilst it’s not a page turner in the sense of page turners in thrillers for example, it definitely has a gripping plot that will have you feeling all of the feels. I like that there were a couple of different strands of storyline, each of which captured my interested and towards the end especially had me shocked with surprise.
Overall a great, easy romance read, especially if you’re going on holiday/vacation or even if you need a palette cleanse!

The writing in this was so fun and lighthearted but also serious when it needed to be, and I really enjoyed the main characters and their dynamic. Justin was so sweet and I had to laugh when they literally voiced that he was the epitome of "if he wanted to, he would" because that's exactly what I was thinking the whole time. Both the leads having mommy traummy hit kinda hard at times 👁️ I do think literally every character needs badly to go to therapy but it seems like we got there in the end. My only critique is it seemed like we crammed a lot in the last thirdish of the book and it made the pacing feel a bit off, but I really like how everything wrapped up so I don't mind it too much. Looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this universe!
