Nobody in life is perfect and every family has their flaws. Emma’s life wasn’t easy for her growing up and Justin’s life was but that’s about to change. —trigger warnings for mental health related issues, I don’t think that they went into too much detail over it but I thought it contained instances like an outsider looking in.
I know a lot of people who read this book were really able to relate to the characters, I don’t think that I can. My life is different from there’s but it’s about something I haven’t really read about in the past so it was very interesting to see where each character stood. I was definitely compassionate like Emma was but also angry like Maddy and Justin about certain things but would change my mind when I was reading Emma’s point of view.
Anyway, I loved this book. I loved the story. I loved the ending and as always with my favorite books, I wish it didn’t have to end.

The author masterfully wove together intricate issues, surprising twists, and turns, keeping me fully invested in the characters' journeys. Emma and Justin's stories resonated deeply, and I found myself rooting for them with all my heart. Their hurt, healing, and growth were so relatable and authentic that I felt like I was right there with them, hoping for a happy ending.
This beautifully crafted book is a true masterpiece, showcasing the kind of beauty that's raw, real, and redemptive. It's the kind of beauty that opens your heart to new perspectives, making you appreciate the peaceful moments even more.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great getaway or a romance novel that will touch their heart. I'm definitely adding Abby Jimenez to my list of favorite authors and can't wait to dive into her next phenomenal read!
