I loved that they all got their happy ending. Maddy could finally settle down and Emma went home. It’s funny how many strings tied all the characters together, like everyone ended up where they were meant to be. I loved that we got a happily ever after with realistic changes and not just glazing over issues to make it a neat ending. It was perfect.
Edit: I didn’t realize I started with the third book in the series. Luckily I have more to read from this author😅

okay, in this books defence, it isn’t the worst book in the world but i personally don’t think it deserves the high ratings it has.
i didn’t like this book from the off tbh, from about the 3rd chapter i had a feeling that i wasn’t going to enjoy it. still i powered through and there were parts of the book i actually liked. but overall, it wasn’t for me. and a big part of that was the main characters. i found Emma so irritating. i appreciate she has so much trauma from her childhood but my god was she preachy?! when Justin was sharing his anger at his mum and she said her classic line about choosing empathy, i wanted to smack her. i felt as though she was the only one who could have trauma and if she got through it, then anyone could! a real cheesy hallmark movie narrative. i also thought Justin was annoying; he was less irritating than Emma but his lack of understanding towards his mum or even Emma at the end of the book was confusing and completely ridiculous. i also hated Emma’s choice of wording like calling Justin a docking station or telling everyone she was going small… im not sure why it annoyed me so, it just did.
there were some cute moments but as a romance, i just didn’t buy it. i know romance happens super fast in books and usually i eat it up but i actually didn’t care if these two ended up together or not. i probs won’t pick up any more of Abbey Jimenez’s work as i didn’t enjoy her writing style either. yeah this one was a big ol’ miss
