I loved Emma, I really love and appreciate her perspective at first on her mom.
Justin was everything I wished Atlas had been in Coleen Hoover’s It Starts With Us.
The plot was well laid out, the dialogue was hilarious, the setting was perfect and I don’t feel like it dragged like in Jimenez’s previous stories. The minor characters were great and the ending was cute and hilarious. Happy for this to be my second 5 star read of 2025.

I did not expect to love this book as much as I did because I don't often read romance novels and I only read this one because it was my book club. I finished this book in 5 days, which isn't common for me. I was about 2/3 of the way through this book when I decided to sit on the front porch, enjoy the sunshine, and read. I found that I couldn't stop reading and I finished it within an hour and just had so many emotions, both happy and sad.
This story has great humor and chemistry between the love interests. The dialogue and dates and just everything feels so organic and down to earth. I love the intricacies of their lives separate of each other, and how they had to reconcile it with what they wanted/expected out of life.
I really find no faults in this book and it will forever have a home on my shelves.

”The love stories sold us the wrong thing.
It's not grand gestures that show how you feel, it's all the little secret things you do to make her life better that you never tell her about. Taking the end piece of the bread at breakfast so she can have the last middle piece for her sandwich when you pack her lunch. Making sure her car always has gas so she never has to stop at the pump. Telling her you're not cold and to take your jacket when you are in fact, very, very cold. It's watching TV on a rainy Sunday while you're doing laundry and turning her light off when she's fallen asleep reading. Sharing pizza crusts and laughing about something the kids did and taking care of each other when you're sick.
