Final thoughts
Really loved this book, thought it was hot and the chemistry was very believable. I didn't think the sex scene was needed but it was cool to see.

This author is quickly becoming a favourite of mine!

So, first off: I REALLY like the fact that 50% of the way in this book (#2 of this series), nothing too physical has happened yet. Admittedly, I started getting into these styles of books due to some of the steamier scenes, but I appreciate that Mika is trying to figure things out, figure HERSELF out, and isn't just kookoo over all the hot guys around her. It's distracting for her, sure, but she makes it very clear ahead of time that she isn't looking for relationships or anything serious at the moment. However, she does start opening up to her friends (most of which are interested in her in more than a friend way, and she admits she is too), and really gets to know them. It's a nice change from immediate love at first sight mate bonds, or rejected mates, etc. This is just so much more real, and in depth.

I also LOVE that Hunter is so present in this book, helping Mika through things and essentially becoming a big brother in her eyes. We saw different sides of him in the previous books focusing on Kenzie and the trio, but we're seeing even MORE of him now.

At one point he said, "What would you do, Mika Marshall, if the world tried to take away what you loved most? What would you do with all that power? Would you go quietly into the night, or would you watch it all burn?” It reminded me of one of the later scenes in the Fox trilogy (MINOR SPOILER ALERT IF YOU DIDN'T READ THEM FIRST!) where the dragon asked Hunter to kill one of his leash, and then to turn the gun on himself, and he did so with no hesitation. But once he saw Kenzie was in danger due to what she was starting to do to protect him, he was lost and would have done just that - burned the world down, or at least watch it burn without a care. I LOVE seeing deeper into Hunter's personality. He's definitely one of my favourite characters in this world! His role in helping Mika is exactly what he wanted in the past - to be in charge of the lore and to help guide the supernaturals, particularly the witches, before everyone turned on them and the balance was altered.

By the end of this book, Mika has opened up and trusted the people she's let into her life much more fully, has discovered what's going on with the bodies being split open and organs being harvested, and her destiny, whether she wants it or not, is beginning to unfold more and more.

Wow Wicked Games Heat up with Mika learning more about blood magic and her being a blood witch. This one gets bloody and thrilling. also so sweet and sensual. I just love Audrey and Mika's Men. also Hunter Kenzie's Fox is so great I hope he is in all the books to be honest. The girls and guys find a seal and one of the murderers and why they were doing it. I so can not wait to read book 2. also Mika's Raven shows up what a cool ending.
