I loved this book but I was mad at the end. Cant wait to see what happens next
Re-read: 2015
To me, this book felt like a lot of nothing happened in the beginning and middle, but ended with a big shipment of fireworks going off to push Rose through into adulthood and the next three books. I THINK the next book may be the last one I've read, as I know I went a little further, but I'm still unsure if I read four or five of these in high school so we shall see.
So this book is the book I fell in love with Adrian. I must admit, rereading sixish years later I'm less into the Dimitri romance as I am following Adrian. That isn't to say I don't love Dimitri, I do, I just close to hate rose. I say close to hate because she's finally growing on me... But really, I never realised how quickly things go between these two.
For someone Dimitri's age, you don't expect him to say the L word first, and I'm a little pissed she didn't react AT ALL to him saying it. Gurl, the first time is HUGE. Here? Not so much. Also, her big mission at the end and their love don't quite compute in my brain due to having sex one time and going from pretending you don't like someone to being starry eyed and changing your life for them...
Other than that, there's hella good action and even though it was annoying the lovies are cute and your soul will get ripped out your throat and asshole at the exact same time and you'll be killed dead from all the feels. Graphic? I could have done worse tbh. I'm dead right now writing this, and have come back like a mason ghost because there's three more books to read and I MUST guide rose through her trials in life. Duh.

Rose still annoys me. She makes terrible decisions & thinks she can handle everything on her own, but that is what I like about her as a character - she’s flawed. The last chapter made me tear up a little bit and I feel really sorry for Adrian.
I enjoyed this book. It is my favorite in the series thus far. I am looking forward to the next books.
One of the best books ever. it should definitely be made into a movie. I keep getting story crushes on all the characters- Dimintri, then Christian, Aidan, yeah. I don't know.
First 3 Books Review on YouTube: https://youtu.be/sh2QcVJHZv8
