This is the second book of the cosy crime 'Molly the Maid' series; however, this would also work as a standalone. Despite being published as a thriller, I'm afraid I have to disagree with this. The plot twists kept me engaged but not on the level of other thrillers.
I was pleasantly surprised to observe how much Molly has matured since the last time I read about her. The author has done an excellent job of continuing her quirky ways, resulting in a natural and authentic feel to the character. Her growth is evident in her actions and conversations, and it was a delight to see that she has become even more relatable.
The author's description of The Regency Grand Hotel is beautifully done. Every detail, from the architecture to the decor, is vividly depicted, making it a setting that I would love to visit. The hotel's charm and elegance make it a perfect backdrop for the story, and it adds an extra layer of depth to the characters' experiences.
Overall, the author has done a fantastic job of bringing the characters and setting to life. The intricate details and nuances make the story feel alive, and it is a testament to the author's skill. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Another fun read. Great sequel. Sounds like the series will continue or at least could.
After adoring The Maid, I worried there was no way this could live up to the precedent it set. I didn’t realize another Molly book was coming, but I’m so happy it did!
Not only did I like this every bit as much, I found it added extra layers and depth to her character, and the addition of the past perspective was enlightening and added to my enjoyment of both books having that extra background.
Molly is such a unique narrator, and Prose is a fabulous writer!
