I really enjoyed this, thought it was a great companion novel to 1984, providing fresh perspectives on the world and characters. One of the things I disliked the most about 1984 was the misogyny weaved throughout, which I guess is to be expected from a book written in 1949, but still. The dive into Julia here was fascinating, it brought so much more depth to her character and I loved how the author weaved this new information into what we already know from 1984. Julia's perspective of Winston was especially interesting here. Loved the examination into who Julia was, how she came to be the person she was, her motivations and experiences. Loved her relationship with Vicky. The ending.... hit.
