damn im devastated

3.5 ⭐️ This was such a unique story and the anonymous letters had me grinning like a little girl! Not really sure how I feel about the ending, but obviously it’s set up to lead into the next book. There were parts I really enjoyed & other parts were slow to me. Will I read the next one, I’m not sure yet. Maybe one day because I want to know what happens next with that cliffhanger!

Absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down.

This book is about a girl who writes letters to her brother and the boy who reads them. One day, he decides to write back.

I truly enjoyed the way this book was written and the way you see their relationship develop through the letters they write to each other. I did feel that the fantasy element of this book was distracting me from that. More often than not, I wished this book was set in a "real war" (like WWI or WWII), just so that the book would focus more on them and their relationship and not so much on this mysterious war between two gods. However, having read the end of the book, I see how this fantasy element could add an extra layer needed to keep this story interesting enough for a second book. I'm very curious to see what happens in the next book.
