A lovely, lighthearted, easy read with likeable characters and a plot reveal that adds drama to the romance

okay, so this was the second time i read this book, and i honestly loved it so much more this time around. i didn’t care much for it after my first read, so i figured i’d give it another go and i’m honestly so glad that i did. the characters are all so lovable, and the relationship that the two main characters have develops so well throughout the book. once they get passed the issue that was keeping them apart, they have some of the best communication skills i have ever seen between two characters in a book, and even when they fight, you can tell they are still on the same team which is so refreshing. overall just a really fun, easy read, with the perfect amount of heart.

Writing was good and I throughly enjoyed this book. Sort of fat positive romance (I personally pictured Olive to be closer to my size than the midsized description given to her) especially since she completely moved on from him when she thought that he judged her based in on her eating preferences. Ethan Thomas is a sexy himbo!
However hated that he refused to accept Olive telling him that his brother was not a good guy when she had multiple reasons and receipts on Dane but the writing helped me understand he couldn’t until it was right in front of his face due to his faith in his brother.
Honestly not that big of a deal to me, though, simply because I so throughly enjoyed Olive’s character. From her fatal flaw of honesty and all the growth she did over the book, I adored how she found how to stay true to herself. Love the groveling scene in the restaurant. Probably did not need the epilogue part but it was cute.

When I picked this book I was not expecting to like it so much. Honestly, the only reason I decided to read this book now was because it was part of a group read... I don't think I would choose, on my own, this book any time soon. Ended up to be my favorite read of the month and the only book I was eager to read every time I put it down.

The story is very cliché, a "enemies-to-lovers" romance, nothing new. But this book is written in such a funny way, I laugh so hard, I felt sorry for the characters, rooted for them, got angry when they did... I really felt this story. That's what makes a book memorable: the fact that you felt close to the characters. It's not a superficial reading, I really connected with them.

Although this is not my favorite genre, this book is so light and cheerful (despite all the awful things that happen throughout) that made me happy. And that was just what I needed.
