I’m listening through again...in some respects it’s even better than the first time because I catch new things each listen & the “hindsight” of what Ward was laying foundations for is amazing.

I anticipated this one as much the second time as I did the first. Butch is one of those characters you just know is going to get a redemption story and as much as you dislike some of his old habits/behaviors - you’re really rooting for him. Because he’s committed to change.

I adore that it’s Marissa too. She’s sort of to the point where she almost just wants anyone to remotely love/respect her after all she’s been through. Instead she gets someone who is head over heels in love with her and willing to do whatever necessary to be worthy.

Like the other books - there’s a lot going on. Storylines run through and some have been going on since book 1. The only problem this causes is that it isn’t easy to enjoy these books all on their own. Possible I guess, but you’ll be missing the depth.

V. Poor V. I’m so glad I don’t have to wait for his story, up next in Lover Unbound.

But it’s going to be a while for for many of the others I’m so invested in.

Jim Frangione IS the voice of the series and I’m used to his style now. I really enjoy it.

I was not excited for Butch and Marissa’s story at all. Mariassa annoyed me in previous books and Butch bothered me. Always there, and...he just doesn’t add much. Saying that though, I enjoyed this book but did not love it. The romance was sweet. Butch’s story was actually interesting. I didn’t love or hate Marissa. All in all, it’s an okay read.

Pretty much the same formula as the rest of the books, although I really wasn't that interested in Butch and Marissa.

Marissa grew so much! Butch and V (basically parabatai). 2 sides of the same coin (Destroyer and Savior). King and Queen are amazing rulers! Poor Jon, others handled it well though. Fuck Lash.

Enjoyed the story...as all the others. Not my favorite. Butch is a human transformed into a vampire. Provides backstory about his life and his romance with Miranda.

I liked it, but not as much as the previous stories. I did like Butch's purpose and his induction ceremony.
