the writing and plot were a glaring problem throughout this book and I decided I wasn't going to continue the series because of it. The premise is possibly the most interesting part but everything surrounding that was incredibly poorly written. Especially the romance which felt rushed.

Stubborn sassy heroines! Enemies to lovers! Magic! All wrapped up in a little French world! I need to start finishing series before I start new ones.

In reality I want to give it a 3.5 because although I really enjoyed it, nothing really happens for like 300 pages. Nevertheless, I thought the story was intriguing with well thought-out characters and excellent world building.
