Deadpan hilarity. Literally laughed. A beautiful cadence and casual brilliance. A highly satisfying read.

Possibly I just wasn't in the mood but overall I found the story a little too meandering and convoluted. Also, there were a few pretty egregious in-book continuity errors, which is a general pet peeve of mine.

I really like this book

I didn't think I would as it's not my usual style to read.

But I enjoyed the characters, I was able to connect with them.

Cruz and Thumbs really connected for me. The friendship was nice to see.

The Sheriff and Thumbs made me smile so different but funny at times. I'd never drink the sheriff's coffee

Things are starting to feel slightly formulaic in this series. Someone new comes to town, there's a murder, supporting characters make an appearance, Thumps is depressed and reluctantly gets involved, Claire is aloof. The dialogue remains snappy but even that is starting to grate.
