I cannot stop thinking about this book. Yes, it is slow and descriptive, but that is what trapped me in. The main character is excruciatingly boring and plain at times, but that feels purposeful. While the characters actions may not be relatable all of us can relate to the themes of insecurity, jealousy, love, and obsession. Some of the quotes and themes explored in this book I will be thinking about for a long long time. It is written very stream of consciousness and doesn’t clearly state when the character is speaking in past or present. I know these reasons are why people don’t like it, but those are the exact reasons I love it. If you want no plot just vibes this book is for you. Also the ending!! If you’re not careful you’ll miss a very subtle plot twist on the past page.

It was just a bit… boring. The characters were somehow kind of cliche and totally bizarre (I hate the socially awkward woman who has no friends MC) and nothing really added up. What was with the birds/ghost stuff? There wasn't enough interesting stuff for like 80% of the book and then the ending was totally weird and just didn't logically follow. I'm liking it less thinking back on it, probably 2.5*.

Dark and tense atmosphere, story unfolded differently then I thought it would.
Second book I read by Fuller, love her style and the way the books suck you in

It took me a little while to get into this, but bit by bit a very interesting story about two women who are unstable in different ways takes shape. This started off slow, but steadily picked up the pace and in the end, I enjoyed it.

Got really confused by this book. It keeps changing from past present and future without any notice so it's really hard to keep track of what's happening.

I think the character Francis seemed a bit off from the start, as did Cara. I liked Cara's stories but like Francis could not tell what was real and what wasn't which added to the confusion.

liked it and would recommend, 3.5 stars
