This is an engaging and horrifying read about the human condition: the inevitability of corruption, innate thirst for violence, and power struggle. It's so well-written and you can picture each scene vividly as it's described, hear the shouts and roar of the storm, as these characters slowly give in to the beasts within.

some of the events in this are definitely disturbing, to say the least.

ongoing animal slaughter, the fact that they literally killed piggy in the end ? like what ?? i’m not surprised bc they’re all males but still ?

but the fact that apparently all of these boys are based off real students mr golding taught is somehow even funnier to me. 
also this sheer obsession with the conch ? i am traumatised by the word alone
