I have read 1/3 of the book and it is boring... Th main character is naive, asks people questions out of nowhere acting like a detective, and for some reason they just answer? Boring. No intrigue. Don't even care why the guy died.

I read this because my friend gifted me Death By Pumpkin Spice and it’s the third in the series. I thought I’d need to read them all. I doubt that’s necessary and frankly I don’t know that I’d be able to get through another one like this.
He should consider never writing women again. The Main Character was so absolutely unrealistic and insufferable.
Bad. Bad bad bad.

I'd give it 0 if I could.
I literally found nothing redeeming about this book. The best friend had no personality- she's supposedly gorgeous and doesn't want to be an actress. As though being an actress is a stable career choice and her only option if their bookstore/coffee shop fails. The protagonist talks about her weight and food choices constantly, has no management of her cat, no tact at all, is completely unlikeable, it was just terrible. The person who did it literally felt picked from a hat. The writing was awful. About the only person I kind of liked was the Willy Wonka neighbor guy and even he's a caricature.
Also, just once, just ONCE I'd like someone who writes about a small town to have ever actually BEEN to a small town and had some clue of exactly how many specialty shops and such it can support. And while I don't subscribe to the notion that a woman can't write a man or a man a woman, try talking to a few. If had to hear one more description of how Rita's bosom was going to escape her dress, I might have screamed.
