DNF @ 47% when the main character convinced an officer of the law to break into a crime scene with her and both of them suffer no consequences or see why what they did was wrong
The main character is annoying and I’m not a fan of the writing.

Well....I finally broke down and created a "Did Not Finish" shelve. I stopped at page 73.
Why did I buy the book??? I bought it as it had coffee in the title, had a cat on the cover, and was first in a bookstore cafe mystery. Three of my most favorite things!
Where to start. Ok, first, the main character, Krissy Hancock, is annoying. And not a little annoying, TREMENDOUSLY annoying. She's judgmental, rude, dismissive, and selfish. Lets start with the fact that she and her friend (Vicki) have just opened up this bookstore cafe in a small town thanks to her father who gave her the money for the business. First day of business she's rude and condescending to all the customers who come in. Does Krissy know how business works? Um, you don't piss on your customers just because you've decided they're beneath you.
Two, the words self entitled and oblivious could also be used to describe Krissy. She's constantly running out of the business just assuming that Vicki will pick up the slack. In the 73 pages I read, I'm not certain she ever says "please" or "thank you". I have no idea why Vicki would want to go into business with this person.
Third, why does she have a cat? She seems to hate it and mistreats him. Her cat is constantly having issues with the litter box, which is a cats way of saying, "hey, there's something wrong, you need to take me to the vet". Instead, she throws the poor thing into the litter box as if that's some sort of teachable lesson. If the cat is pissing everywhere, take it to the vet or give the cat to someone who actually likes cats.
What stopped me from going any further was when the police chief, who's part of a writing group, shows up in a group meeting and just starts telling everyone everything about the investigation. What? Yep, I just couldn't take it anymore.
