Well this was a bit of an odd reading experience, having done a Disney College Program, which is what I'm assuming the setting of the story is based on.

There were some things that were unrealistic (mostly the ending and the fact that these were high schoolers, but it's not like this is nonfiction nor the point of the story).

I loved the fat representation and the discussion of the way that princess (Disney princesses) are always thin. It's an important discussion especially when the princesses are meant to be role models for kids, but if you're a fat kid, you don't ever see yourself represented.

Thank you to NetGalley for making this available in exchange for an honest review!

Gorgeous artwork pair with the fantastic prose for the perfect read for every little one who sits in front of the TV and movie screens dreaming of someday wearing the crown. With hints and nods at The Happiest Place on Earth, the graphic novel’s Sommerland setting is magical and joyous; the workers who are thrilled to be working at their dream location are contrasted with a few grouchy, exhausted, and negative employees.

It was delightful to see a full-figured MC striving to attain her dream of being a princess at her most favorite place in the world. She is thrilled to be a part of it all, whether working the nacho stand or hiding behind a masked character. She tries, she researches, she practices, and she is determined. But there is nothing she can do about the fact that she doesn’t look like the princesses the park’s owner has created.

Go in reading knowing you are going to get your HEA. The pieces fall into place and give an uplifting and hopeful end to the story. Hollywood, take note!

This book was adorable, I just flew through it. Read it in a single sitting. Tabitha was, not fearless, but determined despite her fear. And James was there foe her, supportive and fun. A light, fun read. But woth a powerful message.
