I thought this was a great book!! It was well written and I gave very little to complain about! Sadly, I’m not a fantasy person, and this book did not change that for me. But! That is not the fault of the book, so I feel it’s unfair for me to rate it. 
If you like fantasy, royal drama, found family, and talking horses, this is a great read!

I had a good time, perhaps I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it a few years ago. It took me a while to get into it but I admit I was hooked. The plot was pretty predictable but I still had fun.

This book was about healing from trauma, and finding yourself and your strength in the face of societal injustices.  I loved the slow, introspective pacing of the story, and the way that Thorn grew into herself and her purpose. The found family, the politics, the tiny sprinkling of romance. I really loved this book!
