I liked the quick chapters and the story kept me interested. Definitely got some [b:We Need to Talk About Kevin|80660|We Need to Talk About Kevin|Lionel Shriver|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1327865017l/80660._SY75_.jpg|3106720] vibes but it's much less intense. I liked that you're not sure which way things will go or who to believe - either option leaves a lot to think about.

Suspenseful enough for me to keep turning the page, however I found the ending fell a bit flat, with me asking “and what?” which let it down a bit

No notes, this book kept me on the very edge of my seat even until the last few words.

I can appreciate the storytelling and plot dynamics, but this wasn’t my cup of tea. Overhyped.

I don't typically gravitate towards books centered around children, so despite hearing plenty of glowing reviews, I had initially dismissed this one. However, I stumbled upon it at a used bookstore one day and decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did because the writing drew me in immediately. From the very first page to the last, I was gripped with tension and unease. The author masterfully conveyed the emotions of the protagonist, making every moment feel real and intense. The ending was both satisfying and impactful, leaving me eager to explore more of the author's work.
