This is a cute series.
It is a very original idea and it keeps growing.
This one was a little more whiny than the first, but with the way the ending was, I need to know what happens now.
Looking forward to the third installment.
I saw an ad for [a:Amanda Hocking|3486415|Amanda Hocking|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1314326487p2/3486415.jpg]'s new series Wake, and am interested in reading that one too.
P.S. She looks super young!

I was pretty excited to start this book because I really loved Switched, the first book in the trilogy. I thought I'd feel the same way about Torn, but I didn't. Not in a bad way. I loved this book even more the the first one. I didn't think it was possible but there we are. I rated it 5/5 stars, when I rated Switched 4/5, so that speaks for itself. I loved how Wendy was a lot more mature in this one than the previous book. She seems to finally accept her role as princess. The thing I loved most about the book is the other characters, unlike the first book it doesn't really focus only about Wendy and Finn. It seems to revolve also more about the other characters. I love how Matt was a lot more in this book. Also Tove and the new character Loki, who I just love. Goodbye Finn, hello Loki ^^ Anyway... This was a really good sequel to Switched. I really love Amanda Hocking's writing and I can't wait to get my hands on the final book.
I hate when I take all the time to type up a review and goodreads decides not to save it.
GRR! Oh well, not typing it again.
I enjoyed this one immensely. actual rating 3.5
I'll read book 3.

This book picks up right where Switched leaves us with Wendy in this brand new world she is trying to fit into since she is the princess of a race of trolls, the Trylle. This sequel doesn't suffer from second book syndrome as so many sequels do as there are new introductions, a lot more world building, and a lot of twists along the way to keep you interested right up until the very end. And we get Loki.
The characters in this one are still great -- and we get introduced to a lot more of them as well. Where Finn was sweet, dutiful, and selfless, Loki is his opposite. Yes, we get the whole love triangle of opposites: do you want the dependable one or the bad boy? But it really works in this one because Loki isn't depicted as an abusive asshole, he is just as selfless as Finn in his own way. Also there isn't an overabundance of romance that the overarching plot becomes a side plot and the romance takes the lead.
I think the male characters in this one are all so different and play off one another very well. I would have liked to be introduced to more female characters throughout the entire series rather than males, but I do really enjoy Willa and Wendy. I think Wendy has really grown from the naive, selfish girl in the first novel into someone who will do everything she must to protect not only herself, but those she really cares about.
I liked that we learned about the politics in play between the different races of trolls, especially the distrust and hatred between the Trylle and the Vittra. But I loved that there was more to the story than what we were originally told by the Trylle -- and that the Vittra weren't extremely honest with Wendy either. It made it so that Wendy was able to come to her own conclusions and make the appropriate decisions based on what she wanted to achieve in her life. After a quick paced action scene at the beginning, there isn't a whole lot of action in the majority of this book, but the plot development and explanation of the way the different races interact made it worth every second. Even without the "action," there was still enough throughout the book to keep you turning pages until the very end.
Overall: 4/5 stars. I am so excited to see how the rest of this plays out and I love love love Loki.
ALSO, the version I have published by St. Martin Griffin's has bonus stories at the back and it puts you into three different points of view of the male characters in the story!! I highly suggest if you are going to pick up a copy, you pick this version up!

I liked this book even better than the first one! At first I was rooting for Finn, but then Loki happened...and I really like his name, too.
Tove and Duncan would be some of my best friends. I love them. I was kind of upset that there wasn't as much of Matt and Rhys is this book that I would have liked, but whatever. I also loved getting to see another side of Elora that didn't make me want to throw a heavy book at her head.

I cannot decide if I want to rate this book 3 stars, 4 stars, or 3.5 stars. I read the book in one evening. I'm invested in the story, it's not one of my favorites though. It does read a little on the younger side of YA. We learn new things and new characters are introduced. I feel the story was more character driven. There is a plot in it, but it fades into the background. It is more about Wendy learning new things, accepting what she can and cannot do, and acting how she pleases. Some of the characters I found interesting while other were stereotypical. I feel like a couple of the side characters, ones that didn't have huge part within the book, shine brighter than some of the main characters. Overall, it was well written and held my attention, but I do not know if I will reread this book. I will finish out the trilogy though.
Second book of Amanda Hocking and I loved it totally!! With introduction of few caractrs were interesting. Many secrets got revealed. Where the first book was just an introduction ,this was actually filled with many information.
Wendy 's character developed morre, grew in her powers and caame to know more about Trylle history. Duncun ,willa, matt , Rys were good and interestin and great secondary characters. Finn was quite cold and Distant in this and which I didn't like at all! He wasn't strong enough to fight! Not much romance but Flirtings were there which made it interesting!!! I loved Loki and I think h is better suited for Wendy and he is more Hot than FInn.
This book was perfect!!

WHAT IS IT WITH THESE CHARACTERS AND FALLING IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER RIGHT OFF THE BAT?!
Now she and Loki are in love too? But she's in love with/can't live without Finn? And she's suddenly so Princess-y that she's freaking marrying Tove?
I don't think so.
I like Loki, he's fine and whatever, but at least I feel like Wendy and Finn have a semi-relationship now that we're through the second book. They know each other, at least. Wendy and Loki have met all of four times, but they're going to consider running away together? No. Just no.
I'm starting to like Elora, which of course means she's going to die soon.
And I like the new insight into Wendy's past, about her being part Vittra, part Trylle, and ultra-powerful. All awesome. Her new powers? Sweet. Matt and Willa? Adorable and totally obvious and Wendy was annoyingly slow at putting that together. Rhys and Rhiannon? Well, we never saw Rhiannon in this one, but awesome.
But why is everyone in love so fast?! These things are supposed to take time!
Now that the rant is over... I liked this book fine. Miles ahead of [b:Switched|8564935|Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1)|Amanda Hocking|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1288828865s/8564935.jpg|13433455] despite only earning three stars.

Though the beginning of the book disappointed me, I was pleasantly surprised in the last half.
Most of my surprise came from the fact that the book really made me begin to feel the loneliness and sacrifice that Wendy is going through to become a princess. She's slowly becoming a stronger character.
At this point, even though I dont understand the romance, I want her and Finn to be to be together simply because I want her to be happy. I'm excited to see the third book and to see her triumph over her evil father.
I do have a few criticisms about the book though.
For one, there didnt seem to be an actual plot, just a long string of events connected by backstory. It didnt bother me too much, but there was a lot of me staring at the book and wondering where things were going.
Second, Wendy's characterization is really strange. Shes turning into a more likeable character, but some of the things she does are childish, nonsensical, or downright annoying.
Also this love triangle with Loki is a bit annoying, I wish they could just be friends. I still wish Rhys could have been the love interest but oh well
Still, I have reasonably high expectations for this book.

This was a pretty good follow up to Switched. I feel like Wendy, the main character is growing up at a really speedy pace, but I guess with all that’s going on in the book she has too. The book is a super fast read and keeps you entertained. It’s interesting to see the love triangle develop. It’s kind of odd, but still I read on and had my own theories of what was going to happen and who she was going to end up with. Even with some of the over the top things going on, it’s easy to keep with the story. Like I mentioned in my review for Switched, I’ve never read about Trolls before, so this series makes Trolls seem interesting and not so much “Eeww” LOL.
