Great book! This is a re-listen for me and I'm so glad I'm re-listening because I only remembered the main points which makes this feel like a first time! I love the direction this story is going and all the side characters who are becoming very important to the story. Book 2 really had a lot of story & world developments and that made this book very exciting for me. Besides some of the adults, there is not a character I don't like in this book. Wendy has really come a long way since the beginning of book 1 and she is going to be a kick butt queen!! I'm sad that I'm going into the last book because I don't want it to be over!

The narration is awesome, Therese Plummer is a narrator god in my opinion ;)

This book was good but not my favourite. I have a lot of emotions right now. But honestly, the dynamics between the characters are so sudden and so lacking at points. However, I still really enjoyed it. I love Tove, like he's one of my faves. And Loki is very attractive. Finn drove me nutso. Like what is wrong with this dude? Their relationship is so toxic but finally Wendy is catching onto it. I'm excited to see what happens it book three.

Judging by the reviews, a lot of people think that this is better than the first book. I'm just confused by these books. I really liked Switched, then about a month went by and I got Torn for christmas. I had gotten my hopes up high, but I was so disappointed. I don't even remember the last half of the book, I just read without really understanding.

Love love love this series

I actually read this as an ebook just like the first one in the series, Switched. When I enjoyed the first one as much as I did, I went ahead and purchased the 2nd and 3rd as ebooks, I believe for only about $2.99 at the time. Like with the first one, I read this on my iPhone Nook app whenever I was somewhere and didn't have a book with me. After I finished my last book, I decided to go ahead and finish this book. These are now coming out in actual "books" so I thought I'd go ahead and get my reviews done on them.
At the beginning of this Wendy has run away, back to her human family, to get away from having to be the Trylle princess. She just wants her normal life back, and believes she can actually do that if she leaves. She brings home Rhys, the child that she replaced as a changeling. So her human brother Matt gets to meet his "read" brother. But of course, she can't just go home, as it turns out there are other trolls out there, the Vittra, who come back to try to kidnap her, and do succeed. They take her to their king, who turns out to be her father. But while she is being held there, she learns about why the Vittra want her, and meets her stepmother. She learns the Vittra can't have children, and hope that she can come in and help them, as she is a mix between them and the Trylle. Finn comes in as a Tracker to rescue her, along with her brothers Matt and Rhys. They all are taken back to be safe in her mother Elora's home. Wendy learns that she must become the princess in order to save her people, and must even become betrothed to help. But there are some mysteries she must solve while she's there, like why did it end up being so easy to escape the Vittra, it was like one of them just let her walk out, a Markis named Lucas. And why then does he show up at her mother's home?
I enjoyed this book, and will probably read the 3rd one in the next month or two. I look forward to seeing how it will end. As I mentioned in my review of the first one, I'm glad we still don't really have a love triangle, at least not to the point of other stories these days.

There's not too many books that have trolls as their main characters. In fact, this is the only trilogy that I've ever read that even mention them. You'd think they are those nasty short creatures that live under bridges, maybe even with wild colorful hair and jewels in their belly buttons, but this story is about their kingdom and how the new queen, currently troll princess, who was exchanged at birth with a human baby to hide from the vittra king, and which kingdom she will choose to rule. And of course, she falls in love with the one person she can't fall in love with... oh the drama is endless.

See review for Switched. These could have easily been 1 book considering none have a fully fleshed out plot arc until put together.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I wasn't that into the first book, but my interest was up at the end as Wendy left the situation. I wondered what would happen as she returned home. It didn't last long, as she was kidnapped and ended up in the Vittra.

This hold did come in at the library quickly, so I only had one other book I read in between. There were "refreshers" included here, which are great if it's been a while since you read to first book, but a but annoying if it's only been a week and you already remember. I know, that's a catch22 for authors!

The romantic relationships here though ... I never felt to pull to Finn. Loki's attraction seemed to come out of nowhere. I like Tove, but no romance there.

Occasionally, there were just some stupid things that had me shaking my head (like as Wendy tries to escape, is caught and is being brought before the king, "I decided to go along with it. If he tried to give me the runaround, I would bolt." Well, except for the fact that she a prisoner and can't "bolt". Another

"I didn't know you'd be visiting, or I'd have straightened up the place." Loki smirked and gestured vaguely around his room. There was hardly anything in it, so it wasn't messy at all.

Well, thank you author/Wendy for pointing that out, or I would have missed it ... I wonder if Loki knew he was making a joke as he did it, as had to be explained to us, the reader.

Another sentence "I didn't used to be the way I am now" ... DIDN'T USED to be? Could she just not simply say "I wasn't always like this?"

So ... I don't think I'll be continuing on.
