The storyline in this book had promise but it fell flat for me. I'm just going to leave it at this and let others form their own opinions.

This is the very first book that I have read from Ruby. I love reading MC books and I will be reading the rest in this series. Not only did it hook me from the beginning but it keep me until the end. It gave me two amazing characters that I want more from every time I turned the page. Ruby wrote this book amazingly. She have me a storyline that I could easily relate to and enjoy. She gave me Axe and Dani that were two people who you could easily relate to, feel for and want more from.
Dani is a normal woman with huge ambitions. She wants to be a tattoo artist. She has amazing talent at drawing and wants to put that talent to good use. She is working right now with her best friends Zara and Jake who are helping her learn how to tattoo. They want to give her a chance and succeed. But unfortunately her past might get in the way.
Axe is part of the local MC. One of his members comes to the tattoo shop to get a tattoo done and sees Dani's work. He suggests Axe going back there to get one done. When Axe walks in there is instant chemistry between him and Dani. He wants to get to know her and more. But it is not that easy.
Dani's past comes back to haunt her in more way than one. Will Axe be able to save her and prove to her that he is different? Will these two be able to be in a relationship? I loved Axe and Dani. These two have some amazing chemistry. They both have pasts that neither can get over but together fate can move mountains for them. I enjoyed reading this and cant wait to read more from this series and author. Ruby has gained a fan with these two characters and this storyline. Highly recommend reading this one and starting this series.

So I felt very disappointed after I finished reading this, for me it felt like something was missing and it didn’t feel like it was well established. The book was very fast-paced and I think at times it was too fast paced. There was a few times where I had to reread passages because it was like I would blink and miss something. I think the pacing needs to be woorked out.

I really liked Dani and her story, the abuse written in this book is semi autobiographical and there is passages in the diary and personal thoughts from the author herself that was written amazing and it really hit me in the feels. I liked the progress she made in dealing and coping with her abuse my only wish is that there was more of it, I wanted to see her progress through the journey of her recovery and I really wanted to see that.

Axe and Dani was very insta-lovey I do have to say the way they met was very cute and I was all for that falling into his lap because that was very cute. Also the dirty talk that was very hot and written again very well!

So we see a great female friendship in this between Zara and Dani and I really liked that and how when Dani was feeling insecure Zara was right there propping her friend back up and being like ‘girl you better than what his shitty ass said’ and I really liked that part of their relationship. I also like her and Jake’s relationship and how he cares for her giving her a job and Zara is teaching her to tattoo and it was good. I do have a slightly issue and at times I felt the friendship was used very convientantly at times.

That being said I felt the author really missed her chance to explore some of the other characters again unless that comes in her next books I don’t know but it was kind of like I had not attachment to the characters and that is part of my problem with this book. I felt zero attachment to the characters, and I’ve always said when rating the books I read that it’s based on my enjoyment and how I feel about the characters and I just really didn’t really care. I mean when the shit was going down in this book I was like ooo that’s getting interesting and then it was over. I’ve read my fair share of MC books and I think my biggest thing with them is I have to care about the characters.

The plot was interesting it’s actually what kept me reading rather than my character enjoyment this time. I felt that the author written the big scene very well and there was enough mini eggs in this book for you to see where it’s going.

I will probably read the other two books in this series because I’m curious to see how I feel about them compared to this book so we will see!

I just want to say that the author has my utmost respect for putting this series out there and really writing from the heart because it shows through in the writing. Unfortunately, the editing was pretty much non-existent.

While I really enjoyed the premise of this book (and the second book, which I received as an ARC) as well as the characters - who are engaging and very lifelike - and the way the series was advancing as a whole, the grammar/spelling mistakes (and not the intentional ones/phonetics in their speech patterns) in practically every sentence makes the whole very hard to read. The use of British slang in a place that's supposed to be set Appalachia is also off-putting.

It's really a shame to see books with such potential not get the treatment by the editors that they deserve...

This was my first book by this author and it wont be my last. I loved Axe and Dani. A really emotional and wonderful read. This book contains many triggers so readers should take caution before going in. I love reading MC books and I will be reading the rest in this series. Not only did it hook me from the beginning but it keep me until the end.

Axe president of Devil’s Reapers MC is not afraid to take what he wants and he wants Dani.
