I loved this book. Maurice’s five toasts will make you laugh, cry and think of your own life and loved ones. This is a special book that I couldn’t put down. Bonus that it’s set in Ireland.

This book really touched me, especially at the end. Although I found the middle rather slow and less engaging, it really picked up after this and led me to give it a higher rating.

Deeply affective, a wonderful book. I guess we can all see a little of ourselves in Maurice, a gruff Irishman reminiscing. Love, loss, making amends. Beautiful.

This story (and writing) was absolutely lovely. There was a calm tranquility to Maurice's storytelling that made my afternoon reading sessions slow down time and make me feel so peaceful. I'm not sure a book has ever done that for me. I'm glad not to have rushed through this story.

This story was beautifully executed by Griffin's writing style. It's certainly one of my favorite reads from this year. I'm already thinking of buying her second novel, "Listening Still."
