adventurous mysterious fast-paced

I was really excited to read this final chapter on the safe, but it all felt a little rushed and a little too neatly tied up. Don't get me wrong I loved it, cried real tears over a few deaths, but it just seemed to be over in a couple of pages!

ugh good

Sad to see these characters & stories be wrapped. I would love to read more from this world!

I don't know how to rate this book. It did not disappoint me, but it did not pack as big of a punch as some of the other books in the series did.

All in all, I do think it was a solid ending and I was left mostly satisfied.

If I was to give out stars for how much the ending of a book ticked me off, then this would receive a full 5. But I can't.
I was so excited for the end novel of the triplet queens. I was finally able to get a copy and read it all in a couple of hours. And I was so disappointed by the end of it. Spoilers ahead.

First of all, let me start out by saying that Mirabella's death was upsetting, and not just because I liked her. I knew not all of the sisters were going to make it out alive, but really? She was supposed to be this strong bada** elemental queen. And for her to die the way she did was anticlimactic. I would have expected a better death for her. She deserved a better death.

I didn't understand why they built up the legion curse in Jules only for Arsinoe to be able to tether it so easily. I was hoping for a little more crazy legion queen. And then for her to untether it for one fight and, poof, gone. How is it gone? What happened to it? Did it just disappear like the mist?

Why did we not get a definite answer about the mist? Why was it on a murdering rampage sporadically throughout the book? I know it was supposed to have something to do with the dead queens holed up in Katharine, but it didn't even really do anything to them at the end. And if it was acting up because of the queens, why was it killing everyone else?

I will say my favorite part about this book was the redeeming of Katharine. I wasn't a fan of her at the beginning, but she grew on me. I kind of liked the parts with her trying to tamp down the dead queens. I think the more she progressed in this book, the stronger she became on her own. I liked seeing the change that overcame her when Mirabella arrived. I liked that you could see her struggling to protect Mirabella from the dead queens( even though in the end it didn't matter). It showed a nicer side of Katharine. And I do think she had one of the better deaths in the book. I felt like by her saving Arsinoe from the dead queens, she finally felt like she had redeemed herself.

And Arsinoe. She was her usual self. I'm glad she kind of got to stick up her middle finger at the people who looked down on her use of low magic. She was able to tether Jules with no real guidance of help from anyone. She helped to defeat the dead queens. And she still has an awesome bear "familiar". I love Braddock.

All in all, I feel like this wasn't the best book of the series. I feel like I was left with more questions than answers. But I will say I enjoyed reading about Katharine's character arc. That is the redeeming quality of this book.

My emotions!

Not the ending I wanted but then I am not sure the ending I wanted would have worked.

This was a hard one for me, I really loved this series and for me One Dark Throne was the best book in the series. I wasn't sure how this one was going to go especially with where the previous one left off. Part of me really wanted for the 3 sisters to come together and change/fix everything and I suppose in a way they did however it wasn't the way I was hoping/expecting. I really loved Mirra's character but felt a little disappointed with her arc in this and also how her story ended for her, it felt a little dare I say haphazard. The flow of the story seemed to work for the most part but there were some things that just seemed completely unnecessary and also there are some questions that didn't seem to get answered. I struggled what to rate this book because the story and series in whole, is so unique and the characters great, but the ending left me feeling a little muddled.

This book was amazing, it finished off a brilliant series of books so well! The only thing I would’ve liked is to see Arsinoe and Billy come together and perhaps get married ?? Also I wanted to see his reaction to the chic :( but in any case I still thought it was a good ending! I loved Pietyr towards the end of this book, his development as a character was very enjoyable to read and he has become one of my favourite characters in the series.

All in all, a very good set of books that I would highly recommend!
