While I loved Beautiful Disaster, still love Travis, this re-telling wasn't what I hoped it would be. I'm having mixed feelings as I'm trying to review. I'll sum it up as I had to own a copy of Beautiful Disaster but I won't be buying a copy of Walking Disaster. I'm glad I read it but I won't be coming back like I have a few times with the original book.
I didn’t realize that this book was the same story, but with a different perspective until I started reading! The relationship between these two young adults is very toxic and I feel like it may send a bad message to teens about what a relationship should be like. I already realized this from the last book and this one was the same, maybe even worse. This book WAS interesting and easy to read in a few days. I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re looking for a emotional or moving book with a good message!
“One of these days you’re going to fall in love, son. Don’t settle for just anyone. Choose the girl that doesn’t come easy; the one you have to fight for, and then never stop fighting. Never.”
“You need to walk away, Pidge. God knows I can’t walk away from you.”
“I wanted to tell her. Jesus, did I ever want to mouth the words, but I could barely admit it to myself, much less her. Deep down, I knew I was a piece of shit, and she deserved better, but that was also the one thing that stopped me. She was my opposite: innocent on the surface, and damaged deep within. There was something about her I needed in my life, and even though I wasn’t sure what it was, I couldn’t give into my bad habits and fuck it up.”
“You can’t tell me what to do anymore, Travis! I don’t belong to you!”
Her words ignited a deep anger inside me. I stomped to the bed, planted my hands on the mattress on each side of her thighs, and leaned into her face.
“Well I belong to you!” I screamed. I put so much force behind my words, I could feel all my blood rush to my face. Abby met my glare, refusing to even flinch. I looked at her lips, panting. ” I belong to you,” I whispered.
Some things I REALLY wanted to read about:
When travis first saw Abby at the fight.
The Chris incident at lunch.
Travis Singing I can't get no satisfaction. What made him do it?
Shep and Trav Pulling the guys away at the night club. I wanted this one SOOOOOO BAD!!
Bringing the bimbos home. No memory? Really!! Such a MAJOR part of BD than just glossed over?
When he went home to his dads after thanksgiving. I would have liked a more in depth read here.( although I did cry :( )
When Abby got assaulted at the fight.
The wedding!!
The tattoo. Another major point.
THINGS I LOVED
Oh Travis I LOVE you xxx I really enjoyed seeing things from Travis point of view. Know what he said in the fights. What Adam had said. How he handled things with Abby. What happened when she left after the "act". The ring. The door holding. I just loved it :))
I wish it was more in depth though. The first 30% felt like I was reading a voice over. It went from hard cord raw emotion in the prologue to just blah to me. Don't get me wrong I will always and forever love Travis n Pidge, I just wanted inside Travis' beautifully fucked up head. I wanted the crazy. I wanted the raw. I wanted the damaged.
The epilogue got me good!!
SPOILERS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
F.B.I !!! go Travis!!
I was so so happy for him!! I always thought there was more than just "advertising" to Tommy lol.
Abby the hot maths teacher go girl!!
And James. Cutie pie I lol-ed when he won against mummy AKA "lucky 13" at poker he he TWICE ;)
Jessica. Omg mini Travis!! Fist Fighting in kindergarten!! But super sweet to be defending her 8 minute older twin :)
I loved that Abby was pregnant again <3
I look forward to the possibility that this was left open enough to branch out to another book :)

Sometimes I hate romance retellings where its the same story just In the guys pov but this one was actually good and I enjoyed it. I did put it down for a little while since I was out of my romance mood but I picked it up again last night and absolutely loved it.

Wow.
I loved the last chapter and the epilogue.
It was also nice see what happened through Travis's POV, but Beautiful Disaster is still my favourite.
One this side of the story I can see how Abby was sort of a bitch at times. But then knowing how everything turn out spoils it. Which is why the epilogue was a nice surprise. And it just makes me happy, and smile like a fool reading it.
Gosh I love them together.

Yep, I'm a sucker and had to find out what was in Travis' head. I found it fun to read this simultaneously with BD so that I could see the story from both sides.
