it was very charming and so beautifully drawn!! it was just so difficult to understand the story, especially as someone who has never read the books, i was just so confused as to who was who. It was fun and I had a good time, the drawings are so amazing and i will be studying them but storywise there was just too much happening for me.

The art and coloring was so beautiful I stopped and just stared at the pages sometimes. The cats in the background are adorable. I like how this quickened the pacing of the first book.

This was really good and really cute!!! The art style is just so lovely for this especially during a battle, the way that they artists do cat mouths is really nice.
You can just tell the people making this really care about these books and the story.
If I had one complaint it would be that Fire and Ice does seem cramped in there and it feels very fast paced compared to start of the Graphic novel but I am willing to look past that since Fire and Ice is a book that doesn't have much in it beside the most plot relevant scenes and for what it is it feels adapted well enough.
I'm actually impressed with how much they managed to adapt from two books in just 264 pages.
For anyone who grew up with these books, I really recommend this graphic novel <3

There's a lot to enjoy about this graphic novel adaptation. Every single one of the character designs felt refreshed, modern, and well suited to the character themselves. It was visually engaging throughout, and very expressive. It's very clear that the authors have a lot of respect for the source material, and I love all the little details they put into what they created.
Unfortunately, I think this book suffers a lot in the pacing. Trying to cram several books into one graphic novel really made a lot of the story feel rushed. When you have to move quickly from one event to the next, takes away the time to truly get to know the characters and the dangers they're facing. The looming threat of human encroachment and of starvation doesn't weigh as heavily when you don't have time and space to show their impacts. The emotional impact of certain character deathslike Spottedleaf's in particular are severely weakened when the character in question only appeared in a couple scenes. Even the character relationships didn't have time to develop and lay the groundwork both for what's going on in this book and what is to come in future installments. While you get some battles and twists, the rush meant that the emotional punches are a bit pulled . I really want it to live up to the series' affectionate title "Game of Thrones but with cats" but at present it falls a bit flat. My nostalgia for the series really carried me through this one, but if you hadn't already read the original books you'd probably have a much harder time really getting into this book.
TLDR: A really fun adaptation that felt rushed.

This first installment of the Warriors graphic novel adaptations covered all the highlights of what I remembered from reading the novels as a kid, but now with super cute cat illustrations. I loved the art style and it did a good job of paring down the first two books in the series.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Death, Violence, Grief, Murder, War, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Bullying, Blood
