Going into this, I did not expect the Warriors Graphic Novel to be better than the actual books.

I should have, though, because this graphic novel was fantastic. It does a much better job of portraying the characters and story than I believe the book itself did! The story is strong and the art is stronger. The artists have mastered the art of “show not tell”, making it a fantastic, emotion-filled story.

The art and character designs are wonderful. Each character is unique and stands out, which works well seeing as there are many characters in the book. I enjoyed it greatly and definitely recommend it!

This one was really close to being 5 stars for me but it fell slightly short. It's a pretty fun and fast read. And I enjoyed the art a lot, however they chose to adapt two books into one graphic novel- and the first book takes 3/4 of this book - so the second one felt slightly rushed. I also hate that they removed the part where they cross into Riverclan territorry after they bring back WindClan - there is a battle and Leopardfur's apprentice dies. Fireheart saves Sandpaw - but since we don't get that it feels supper weird because Leopardfur really hates both Fireheart and Graystripe and it feels like it came out of nowhere and Sandpaw just suddenly likes Fireheart without any rhyme or reason. Some parts felt rushed - and I hated how we don't really get to see Firepaw care for Yellowfang whilst he takes care of her as a punishment. And I hated that Spottedleaf gets even less screen time and development and her and Fireheart's "relationship" is even less present in this book - so I wonder how they will handle this going forward. I am glad that they removed Fireheart talking about Spottedleaf's sweet scent every 2 paragraphs though - that was really annoying in the original books. And I loved that they choose to introduce Princess earlier and that he sees her in the forest and not Smudge. I can't wait to see Cloudpaw in this style! This also has some really amazing designs- I love buff Silverstream and I love the panel where Ravenpaw brings home an adder - that is probably my favourite panel of this entire novel. Overall a pretty solid adaptation, even though it leaves out some pretty important things and book 2 feels really short.

i wasnt expecting both first books to be combined, i think that was both a good and bad idea. good bc fire and ice is a slower book nd not a whole lot happens so i dont think it’d hold as well as its own graphic novel th say into the wild could. but also bad bc they had to cut a lot. nd some things dont bug me too much bc either it wasnt a huge loss or im sure they’ll be able to squeeze it into th next one (like cinderpaw’s accident nd cloudkit being brought to camp) but some things like th gorge battle i think were rlyyy bad ideas to cut. it was still a rly fun read tho !! i luvv th designs nd all th expressions or so fun nd cute

The Warrior Cats books still have a strong place in my heart. I did not want to put this graphic novel down.

I wish they had made an allegiance list with icons of all the cats featured.

I personally think the art style and expressions looked a little odd sometimes. Like Lionheart is supposed to be large, I know, but he looked a little goofy the way he was built idk lol I prefer the look of the manga art style. I liked the character designs, though.

It’s been like at least 10 years since I read the OG books so I can’t say much about what they left out but it seems like they kept all the important bits in!

I loved that they introduced Princess early on. I also just loved seeing Graystripe x Firestripe x Ravenpaws friendship again <3 and seeing Yellowfang and Fireheart bonding made me happy.
Ravenpaw and Barley 👀 and did I spot Mistyfoot and Stonefur at the gathering?

I thought this was a really good representation of the first two books! Though I do have my criticisms. I didn't really enjoy the art style, I wish some of the cats were cuter, but I do appreciate all the work they put into making this book. Second, I wonder how well a person who's never read the series would follow along? I found while they represented the events well, there wasn't much mention of the mistrust of Tigerclaw.

However, I really enjoyed the book overall! I loved being able to experience the story fast, plus being able to see the territories I've only ever imagined in an illustration

Everything I’ve ever wanted in a graphic novel adaptation of Warriors. If I could show anything to my eight year old self it would be this. I actually shed a few tears near the end of the book because I was so sad it ended.
also i am SO glad that so far it looks like spottedleaf is not a romantic interest. that was the main reason I cried about this book. i hate that aspect of the series SO much!
